About MyOrigins.io
The short version. MyOrigins.io helps you record your family history by talking about it. Leroy, the guide, asks the questions; you answer by typing or speaking; the facts you mention are gathered into people, a family tree and a timeline you can check, correct and share.
What it does
- A guided conversation. Leroy interviews you about one person at a time and notes each fact as you say it.
- Documents and photos. Upload certificates, letters, census pages and photographs. They are read, and the facts in them are added to the right person.
- Background research. Searches of public record collections, including the Library of Congress and its historic newspapers, turn up records that may match. Every finding waits for your verdict before it counts.
- Family involvement. Invite a relative to share what they remember, or share chosen categories of your research with another MyOrigins.io member.
- Your data, portable. Import a GEDCOM file from another tree, and export yours at any time.
Who we are
MyOrigins.io is made by Live, Love, Learn, Leave a Legacy LLC, a small independent company. The name says what we are for: helping families keep the stories that would otherwise be lost.
A note on accuracy
Research findings and extracted facts are produced with the help of AI and can be wrong. That is why each one shows where it came from and waits for you to mark it true, false or unknown. Treat MyOrigins.io as a research aid, not an official record.
